Our company was founded in 1760 in Ponsacco, where we are still based: we are the oldest company in the Pisan area still in business, and in 2010 we celebrated 250 years of uninterrupted operation and presence in the area. Ours is a family business that has been handed down from father to son and which, in the twentieth century under Quintilio Mugnaioni, has undergone a profound transformation - we have gone from being a synonym of excellence in the artisan production of fireworks to an industrial organisation focused on solutions for Italian and NATO countries' military defence.

Civil solutions

In our factories in Ponsacco, in the province of Pisa, we have two production lines: the main one is dedicated to the production of safety signals for the yachting and naval sector in general. The safety kits are sent straight to customers and shipyards.

Pyrotechnic industry for military and recreational uses

The company is not only involved in Italian military defence solutions: we also specialise in the production and wholesale of smoke grenades and navigational aids.

Civil Solutions

Smoke grenades

We produce various types of smoke grenades with traditional pull or electric ignition. The grenades are available in various colours. We manufacture and sell smoke grenades with cardboard protection, which are mostly used by paratroopers. This protection is attached to the ankle. The smoke grenades are daytime safety signals and can have a duration of 60-90-120-180 seconds.

Hand flares

The red hand flares are made for the nautical sector and are safety signals for use at night in an emergency. Our signals have a duration of 60 seconds and are made in different colours: white-red-green.

Navigation kits

Our company not only produces and sells individual safety signals but also prepares different safety kits for the various coastal navigation ranges: kits for navigation within 3miles - within 12miles - within 50miles - without limits. All our signals are Solas branded and certified.

Parachute flares

A parachute flare is another safety signal that has the characteristic of reaching a height of 300 metres, thus making the distress signal visible from a great distance. Our company produces parachute flares with illuminating parts in different colours. Our flares are all Solas-marked and certified.

Very cartridges

Mugnaioni is one of the leading companies in Italy able to produce Very pistol signal cartridges and double star cartridges. For both types of cartridges, stars are available in 4 different colours: RED - WHITE - GREEN - YELLOW.
